Last year, I became obsessed with the idea of taking a single video and personalizing it differently for every individual who watches it. Whether it's a 5-year-old boy who loves soccer or a retiree passionate about gardening, I wanted to explore how the same video could feel deeply personal to each viewer while preserving the creator's original message. I had no idea where to even start, but had a gut feeling the answer lay in the AI models already generating visual content for creators and studios. However, my use case felt far more exciting than simply saving time creating random, 5-second clips detached from any story—I was attempting an entirely new way for people to interact with media. History has shown us how such transformations change everything. In 1941, Orson Welles redefined cinema with Citizen Kane by being the first director to move around the camera within a scene, immersing audiences in ways never before possible. In 1928, Walt Disney's Steamboat Willie introduced synchronized animation, bringing hand-drawn characters to life and reshaping storytelling forever. These are just two examples in a long, ever-evolving lineage of technological breakthroughs that enable creators with new axes in which to create. Wayve is simply my contribution to this lineage—a tool for creators to craft deeply personal, interactive experiences that stay true to their vision while adapting to every viewer.
I hope you enjoy using Wayve as much as we've enjoyed making it for you. And thanks for taking a chance on something new—we don't take it for granted.
